grief support

Our Bereavement Support Program includes various educational and support services designed to provide a friendly environment for exploring feelings of grief and healing. Each Hospice Home Care office chaplain coordinates bereavement care for each family and this support is available for thirteen months as part of Hospice Home Care support. More support is available upon request.

Grief continues well after loss occurs. Most cope with grief in an individual manner. Some need extra help and support. The first year can be extremely difficult. Some find it helpful to talk with others going through a similar experience. There fore, in addition to the usual support services of bereavement care, Hospice Home Care provides "Drop-In" Support Groups. Each office chaplain facilities and coordinates these grief groups. The schedule for each office is located below. Some of these meetings take place in the evening ; some in the day. If there is not a convenient time for you to attend one of our grief support groups, chaplains are prepared to help on an individual basis.

  • These groups are available twice a month in each office area

  • Advance registration is not required

  • Meetings are free of charge

  • Meetings are open to families and loved ones of Hospice Home Care patients or members of the community

Hospice treats the person, instead of the disease; focuses on the family, instead of just the individual; and emphasizes the quality of life, instead of its duration. Hospice care allows terminally ill patients and their families to experience the end of life together, in the comfort and security of home or a home-like setting.   > more
